Sellers Policy Agreement

TERMS OF USE

This MyEcoHome Inc.(“MyEcoHome”) Terms of Use Agreement (The “Sellers Policy Agreement”) contains the terms and conditions that govern your access to and use of the services and is an agreement between you (“The Vendor,” “Seller”) or the business you represent, and MyEcoHome Inc. By registering for or using the services, you (on behalf of yourself or the business you represent) agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement.

Who Can sell on MyEcoHome?

MyEcoHome Inc. is a marketplace where vendors ("sellers”), can sell eco-friendly products directly to buyers in Canada and the United States.

To sell on MyEcoHome account holders must be located in Canada or the USA and must be 18 years of age or older. Anyone under the age of 18 must seek and obtain parent or guardian permission to use this website and the parent or guardian shall be responsible for the account and fees. You must sell products that are environmentally friendly and meet the criteria as outlined below. MyEcoHome does not have any rights over your business or products that are sold in your shop however, by agreeing to these terms you will grant MyEcoHome permission to use or alter the content  in your shop in order to promote your store and its products as we see fit. As we continue to grow MyEcoHome and your shop, will always respect your privacy.

What Products Can be Sold on MyEcoHome?

Eco-friendly, means Not Harmful to the Environment.

MyEcoHome vendors must only sell new, unused, home products in their store that are deemed safe for the environment and for consumer use. The products can be manufactured or handmade. The idea is to sell products that are as natural and as pure as possible so consumers are not subjected to any chemicals or unnatural products that will be harmful to them and the planet.

Some examples of eco-friendly products include:

  • Product has a certified environmentally friendly label (or other certified labels)
  • Item is not made with toxic chemicals
  • Item is made with all-natural materials
  • Biodegradable
  • Recyclable
  • Organic
  • Sustainable products
  • Production and packaging should be safe- use minimal packaging

What Products Can’t be Sold on MyEcoHome?

We will not allow products in our marketplace that are not safe for the consumer or the environment.

Greenwashing is not allowed. Greenwashing is a term used for when a company deceptively puts eco-friendly claims on its product and/or packaging.

You cannot sell any services. You cannot sell used items. You cannot dropship. You cannot sell food or beverages. You cannot sell jewellery, clothing or makeup. You agree not to sell any illegal items, drugs, weapons, or any products that violate our intellectual properties. No obscene or offensive products or pictures allowed.

MyEcoHome may also suspend or terminate your account for any violations and you will still have to pay any outstanding fees on your account.

You Must Be Honest and Transparent

At MyEcoHome you must accurately represent yourself, your business and your products and you must clearly state your shop's policies.

You are required to list the materials or ingredients that are used to make each product in your shop and briefly explain why that product is environmentally friendly. 

You must not create duplicate shops and not coordinate pricing with others. All transactions of products listed in your shop must be completed on MyEcoHome. Vendors cannot encourage buyers that want to purchase an item from your MyEcoHome Shop to purchase through another venue.

The price stated in each listing must be an accurate description of the sale and a vendor must not alter the price of an item after a sale to avoid paying MyEcoHome Fees.

Be Honest and Respectful to Customers and Other MyEcoHome Shop Owners

MyEcoHome requires all vendors be respectful to customers and other shop owners. You must not be abusive or hateful to anyone and must respect others personal information and privacy. Vendors must agree to honor their shop policies. We require you to process and ship items, respond to customers inquiries, respond to customer’s cancellations, exchanges or returns all in a timely matter. If the customer cancels the order you must issue a full refund. If for any reason you are not able to honor one of your store policies, let the customer know and keep them up to date on the process.

Sellers Fees and Payment Policies

Fees

MyEcoHome does not charge listing fees. We charge 10% commission from the total price plus HST or other applicable taxes.  

Payment Processing Fees

MyEcoHome charges a Payment Processing fee for each transaction: 3-5% plus 0.30 CA. Payment processing fees are deducted from the total sale amount in your payment account. In addition there is a $2 CA Payment Connect fee per month charged to active accounts. 

Currency Conversion

All payments and fees will appear in your payment account in Canadian currency.

Paying Your MyEcoHome Fees

MyEcoHome will deduct all fees and commissions from a sale and send the remaining monies to your account. 

Taxes

Vendors whose revenue reaches $30,000 CA must register for an HST account. 

Vendors must notify MyEcoHome if they have an HST account.

If you are a US vendor and are not sure if you are required to have an HST account please contact MyEcoHome. 

Shipping

Vendors must include a shipping policy in their shop and must send the sold item to the buyer as stipulated in the shop's policy. Vendors are responsible for dispatching the sold items to the buyer and must also make sure that their buyers receive their order. You are also responsible for advising customers of processing times and for handling any inquiries,

Returns

Each vendor is responsible for their own customer returns however, they will be processed through MyEcoHome. If a return is made, MyEcoHome will not refund or credit the vendor the 10% commission fee nor the HST or other applicable taxes that were charged to the vendor for our services from the sale. In addition, any payment processing fees incurred from the sale will not be refunded and we will not pay or refund any shipping costs.

Terminating Your Shop

You the vendor can terminate your MyEcoHome shop at any time and there will be no additional charges. However, any outstanding fees owed to MyEcoHome must still be paid.

We may terminate or suspend your account without notice for any reason and any outstanding fees owed to MyEcoHome must be paid.

Liability

MyEcoHome does not provide any guarantees or warranties and if you are sued due to any of your products, content, misrepresentation, your actions or for any other reason, you agree to hold MyEcoHome and its employees harmless from any legal claim and costs and will release us from all liability. MyEcoHome is not responsible for the accuracy, copyright compliance, legality or decency of content posted by users and is not responsible for the actions or failures of any third parties. We do not guarantee that: the services will be uninterrupted or error-free, the services will be free of viruses or other harmful materials, the services will be secure or available at any particular time or location, that any defects or errors will be corrected, or the results of using the services will meet your expectations.

You use MyEcoHome services at your own risk and release MyEcoHome from all liability.

We reserve the right to update these terms.
